AUTH glossary

Use these definitions to distinguish the people, external accounts, and controls referenced in the AUTH guides.

TermMeaning
PlatformThe business integrating zerohash services into a Customer-facing application
CustomerThe Platform’s end customer who initiates a deposit or withdrawal
AUTH providerAn external account or wallet provider represented in the AUTH network; inclusion does not establish a partnership with zerohash or availability for every Platform or product
AUTH partnerAn institution that partners with zerohash to serve as an AUTH provider in the AUTH network; not all AUTH providers are partners, including some wallet integrations
Institutional accountAn external account held with a provider, such as an exchange
WalletAn external wallet controlled by its holder rather than an account held with an institutional account provider
ConnectionAn external institutional account or wallet available to the Customer in an AUTH flow; your Platform chooses which connections appear through the Connection control
Name matchA control that compares Customer information with information received from an external institutional account; its effect depends on the configured matching flow
Non-AUTH-initiated depositA deposit sent to a deposit address without initiating the transfer through AUTH; the transaction block control can route received funds to recovery instead of making them available for ordinary Customer activity
recovery_quarantineAn account label used for received funds that are not available for ordinary Customer activity and require a recovery flow
CertThe certification environment used to test an integration with simulated transactions before production; see Getting started with AUTH

For broader zerohash terms, see Terminology. For configuration choices, see Configure AUTH.
